Captiva Landing Safety Rules
At South Seas, your safety is our highest priority. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please review and follow all rules below. Riders and supervising companions are responsible for understanding these requirements before participating.
For their safety, children under 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times in all pool and water attraction areas.
Height restriction
Bottlenose Bay has 6 water slides and has options for all heights.
Smaller slides available for Kids with maximum height of 54”
- KIDZ TWISTER – maximum height 54”
- KIDZ Bowl 14 – maximum height 54”
- KIDZ ProRACER – maximum height 54” *
* This ride allows supervising companions, but they must be with a rider who meets the height requirement and cannot ride by themselves.
3 Family Slides available with a minimum height of 42”
- RallyRACER (2 slides) – minimum 42”
- FlyingSAUCER – minimum 42”
General Rider Responsibility- Riders and their supervising companions are responsible for reading all posted health and safety requirements, understanding their own or their accompanying riders’ physical conditions, and participating responsibly.
- Riders should be aware that water attractions may involve strong acceleration and deceleration forces from all directions, as well as sudden turns and changes in speed.
- Riders must know what to expect at the start, throughout the ride, and at the end of the aquatic play structure or slide.
Health & Eligibility Requirements
Riders must be able to independently maintain the proper riding position throughout the entire ride, including during moments of increased force.
Guests may not enter pools or attractions if they have illnesses, open sores, wounds, infections, or other conditions that may compromise safety or hygiene.
Riders must:- Have the strength to support their torso, neck, and head throughout the ride.
- Be able to maintain proper positioning even when exposed to strong forces.
Riders should not ride if they have:- Heart conditions
- Neck or back problems
- Existing injuries
- Any medical or physical conditions that could compromise their safety
- Pregnancy
Riders under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not permitted to ride at any time.
Attire & Personal Items- Only proper swimwear is allowed. Clothing with buckles, zippers, rivets, or sharp objects is not permitted as it may damage the ride or cause injury.
- No footwear of any kind is allowed on the slides.
- Remove loose items such as jewelry, sunglasses, hats, or accessories before riding.
Slide Riding Positions
Riders may choose one of two approved positions:
- Sitting Position (Only applicable to Kidz Bowl, Diz ProRacer, and Kidz Twister)
- Remain upright, feet first, in a seated posture.
- Supine Position (Face-Up – applicable for all slides)
- Ride feet first, lying on your back with legs crossed at the ankles.
- Arm positions may be:
- Option A: Hands clasped behind the neck, arms hugging the ears, elbows pointed forward.
- Option B: Arms crossed over the chest with hands resting on the shoulders.
- Riders must maintain control of their limbs throughout the entire ride.
Ride Operation & Attendant Instructions- Riders must listen to and obey all instructions from the Start-of-Ride Attendant.
- Only one rider per slide may enter the slide when instructed. Riders must wait for the attendant’s signal before starting.
- Once dispatched, riders are responsible for maintaining the proper riding position until exiting the ride and coming to a complete stop in the end-of-ride area.
Prohibited Behaviors- No kneeling, standing, climbing, stopping, or turning around on any slide.
- Do not attempt to form chains or ride in groups unless a slide is specifically designed for multi-rider use.
- No running, pushing, or horseplay in slide areas or on stairs.
Weather & Operational Safety- Attraction operations may be suspended at any time due to lightning, severe weather, or unsafe conditions.
- Please follow staff instructions during weather delays.
